Would you believe I've never been to a Whole Foods? There's one about 30 miles from here, maybe even less, and I've just never gone. I think I'm scared: all that food, and it's all supposedly good for me?

That's just soooo tempting.

I'm glad to share my food finds! Here's the deal though, they are considered Organic - so if you have any Organic Food stores or sections of the grocery store try there first. I found mine in Whole Food's.

I went online to their website that says there aren't any stores that are in a 90 mile radius of my place which is obviously not true.

Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Thanks! I'm definitely going to check into those tortilla chips -- being able to have my chip and eat it to sounds like heaven to me.

I am very proud of your progress so far as well! I am on Day 20 with Alli. I enjoy reading your daily updates.

As for Tortilla Chips... I LOVE them and have found Guiltless Gourmet tortilla chips to satisfy my needs while being rather low in Calories. They are 110 calories for 18 chips. They are baked instead of fried so they only have 1g of fat per serving. I purchase the ones without salt since I have big issues with my sodium levels being high (made aparant by using the Alli website).

They are very good and at least you can be saving some calories here or there - even if you do drizzle cheese all over them occasionally.

I buy mine at Whole Foods - it's the only place I have found them but with some reasearch you might be able to find somewhere near you.

Here's to more continued success!

I've ALMOST got myself convinced to give it a go. We'll see how much weight I lose in the next couple of weeks attempting to eat better does.

The crab fries I had last night are saying it's not going to go well...

I"ve never been on a diet, and the thought of one makes me shiver. I can't imagine having that much willpower...

Congrats on the 7lbs.!

Again, this is a case of someone reading a press release by a lobbying group without fact-checking what they've had to say elsewhere.

Witness the group's director in a more publicized interview (not merely a press release issued by his advocacy group):

The nonprofit group, Public Citizen says Alli, manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, has been shown in studies to cause pre-cancerous lesions in the colons of mice. And, because there are no long-term studies of the drug’s effect on humans, the group believes the U.S. Food and Drug Administration should not have approved the drug for nonprescription use.

Dr. Sidney M. Wolfe, director of Public Citizen’s Health Research Group, said, while it is not known whether these pre-cancerous lesions will lead to colon cancer, he and other cancer experts do not believe use of the weight-loss drug is a risk worth taking.

Know what? Oral sex has been linked to cancer more conclusively than Orlistat, but I don't see folks leaving comments designed to scare people away from that.

Be careful on Alli! Intestinal distress aside, it has been linked to cancer. The FDA didn't tell us about that! The info is in the comments of this post...Jean is the name of the commenter:
