I prefer solo workouts, too, although I do miss the excuse to get out of the house.

I joined the gym at the office and really enjoy it! I tend to go when it's relatively empty. the hermit in me won't abide doing group exercises. I just like to work out alone.

Come to think of it, the one I just finished paying for had a stipulation about how many times per week you could go, too. I thought they were trying to ensure no one became a workout addict. Now you've got me wondering if they weren't trying to ensure that people would never have to wait to get on the exercise circuit.

Either way, I'm glad to be done with them.

Oh yeah plus the one I mentioned was open only so often AND did not allow you at all to attend more then three times a week. Very weird.

I'd kind of hoped that the Oldies thing had mostly to do with the age group that was there first thing in the morning. Turns out, it had to do with the manager.

So did the fact -- as I learned AFTER paying for my membership -- that it was closed every day from 1 to 3 p.m., and all day long on Sunday. That really threw me, because I could've arranged to meet VH daily to hand over our son so the two of them could grab lunch while I worked out.

And closing an entire day on the weekend? Argh!

Thank goodness my Curves is NOT like that. Guess they do different stuff at different ones. They do have a wacky wednesday but you don't have to do whatever silly thing they have planned or I would avoid wednesdays.

I heard of one that play relgious music and I was glad mine didn't do that either cause I have a hard enough time when the play older stuff. Anything 80s or higher I am great with but I don't care for the 70s or 60s cause it makes me drag through my workouts.

Games?! Oh, no, I don't think so!!! I didn't like group participation crap in school and I certainly don't want to be the center of attention as I sweat and jiggle my fat, 40 year old butt.

I'll stick to my stationary bike, walking and cardio cleaning, thankyouverymuch. Thanks for the warning!

Are you serious?

I was interested in Curves for about ten minutes. There were two in my area and the one I wanted to attend had religious signs all over the place which turned me off.

We joined the Y here and I haven't gone for a couple of weeks. When I got all motivated to go again last week, I got a cold. I'm hoping the motivation comes back next week, no way am I paying that much to just not go!
