One lesson I've learned: keep a towel nearby. Keyboards and sweat don't mix.

My exercise bike is going in next month's garage sale. I'm not going to be sorry to see it go. But I do love my treadmill -- heck, I'm on it right now while typing this. I had no idea it would be this easy to combine exercise with things I'm doing already.

I made excuses for a while, too, the biggest of which was that I didn't have a treadmill. I kept thinking that since I own an exercise bike which I hate and don't use, I shouldn't spend the additional money on a treadmill which I might hate and not use.

But that didn't get my money for the exercise bike back, and it didn't get me exercising, either.

I finally decided that I'd give it a try and if I couldn't blog while walking on the treadmill then I'd return it. Plain and simple.

It took me an hour to realize that I'd found a way to workout that doesn't bore me (I'm typing or watching TV after all), doesn't really require me to set aside any special time, doesn't cost monthly membership fees and for which I don't have to be particularly coordinated (which I'm not).

I actually LIKE doing this.

I might have to try this. Of course, I'll make excuses for like a month and a half before I actually try it, but you've made me start considering it.

<!--%kramer-pre%-->ll work much the way that selling your youngest kid’s baby crib does: two weeks after it’s gone you find yourself unexpectedly pregnant. (Yes, I realize how insane it is to hope I’ll wake up and find myself unexpectedly slim, but I’mnot leaving it entirely to chance.) But every time I write down something to be sold in our garage sale it makes me paranoid. What on earth will people think when they see the pile of cheap romance novels we’re selling? I don’t read them<!--%kramer-post%-->
